Cris Eggers, CI, CT
Cris Eggers, President founded Communique Interpreting in 1994. She has a Masters' degree in Interpretation from Gallaudet University and a Bachelors' degree in Theater Arts from Sonoma State University.
She took her first ASL class in 1982 after finding out that her niece was Deaf. One thing led to another and she ended up taking interpreting classes and began working as an educational (K-12) interpreter in 1987 and has been interpreting since! She holds current certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (CI & CT) and has served as Vice-President of Northern California Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Co-Vice Chair of the Northern California Healthcare Interpreters Association and on the Reputable Agency Task Force with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.
What brings her joy is reading and writing short stories; playing and listening to music, cycling on the back roads of Sonoma County, social dancing, cooking and enjoying a good meal with friends and family, and being in the company of her beloved wife Sandy.
Her favorite part of working with CQ is collaborating with the hard-working, creative, and talented staff to ensure that clients (Deaf and hearing) get the best interpreting services possible.
The three best jobs she ever had were/are working at Communique as its leader, as an interpreter, and as a mentor to interpreters. "The world of interpreting is constantly evolving (and sometimes devolving) and finding creative solutions to challenges keeps me engaged and excited about providing interpreting services."
Cris discovered the joys of biking at an early age and has not stopped pedaling since.
